Books

I just started reading Clemens Meyer's Als wir träumten/Dengang vi drømte/Back When We Had Dreams (2006 - very tentative English titel, don't know it), and it seems really promising. Mostly because I was told it was, but also because it takes place around the time of the fall of the Berlin wall and how this change affects the lives of a gang of boys from the former East Berlin.

I just finished Kazuo Ishiguro's classic The Remains of the Day (1989), which a friend of mine once gave me, but I never read until now; it's always like that when I see the adaption for film. But then again, when I see the film after I read the book, I'm always disappointed with the film - I recently felt like that with Norwegian Wood.

Before that I read Freedom, but I won't bother telling you how wonderful it is, since every critic in the world has already done so. But hey, read it. It's wonderful :)

And before that, I enjoyed Daniel Kehlmann's Die Vermessung der Welt/Opmålingen af verden/Measuring the World (2005). I have a thing for historic novels. This one is fiction, but the characters existed, which makes it that more exciting.

Enjoy - and please tell me what you read at the moment, I need inspiration!

Sorry about the blurry pictures. It's stupid to do it in the evening.

I read your blog because I like the way you see things, the book I try to end is Woody Allen on Woody Allen by Stig Bjorgman, and I find it highly entertaining - is reasonable to disappointed with the transfer of a book in the movie are two different art forms and directors unfortunately not yet found the right balance between them.
